Supplement & Medication Policy
In a continued effort to improve our services in caring for your dog we are implementing a new supplement and medication policy. Given the number of dogs we care for and the fact each one has a different way their medication is administered, we want to simplify the process and minimize any confusion with medication administration.
Effective immediately, any and all supplements and medications that are to be administered to your dog MUST be organized into a weekly pill planner/organizer based on when the medication is to be taken. You will have a medication chart that you will fill out that will clearly outline what the medication is, the purpose or reason for it to be taken, dose, times to be administered, and any special instructions we should be aware of. You are welcome to bring your own organizer but if you do not have one at the time of check-in, you can purchase one from GBDOG for $5 per organizer. Again, it is your responsibility to separate the doses into the planner prior to check-in. If the medication is not taken daily but instead is an as needed medication, then please bring it in its original packaging and label the medication list accordingly. If the medication is a liquid, powder, or otherwise would not go in a pill organizer then please bring it in its original packaging.
*Please note that we have dogs in our care that have significant allergies and medications need to be stored safely and the staff need to ensure dogs take their supplement or medication which is why there is a daily medication charge. If you feel it’s not important that your dog gets the supplement, then we ask you not to bring it in as you will be charged. Under no circumstances should you ever put medication directly into food as this is a major safety risk should it fall out and another dog get it. Below is an example of the form you will complete with your dog’s medications clearly outlined. If you have any questions, please contact us directly at 508-219-0002. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
